Upon reading this article, it seems I'm not the only one who's aware of Facebook's privacy issues. Regarding the awareness, yes, no doubt that I'm truly aware about this issue. Back in 2011, there was an issue where contact numbers of your friends will be revealed when you alter the setting of your Facebook account. Please refer to THIS article for more information. However, since Facebook has been making changes in these years, I think this matter has been taken care of but thanks to this issue for triggering my awareness on the privacy issues on Facebook. Since then, I've a whole new different impression on Facebook for publishing our personal informations and with that, I've no choice but to set my profile for friends' viewing only.
I've known this and initially had plans on quiting Facebook but to no avail as it's becoming the most dominating social network to keep in touch with friends and family in our society now. I'll still have to keep my account to catch up with people around me especially when we use Facebook groups to discuss on group assignments with our course mates. Therefore, for the sake of keeping in touch with the society, I'll still stay on Facebook.
"for the sake of keeping in touch with the society" and that is so true! If not, we're be so left out and probably unable to join in the daily conversation. =)
ReplyDeleteIf we don't join the society these days, we'll definitely be call outdated and probably be categorise as 'forever alone'. It's the latest trend and we can have as much fun there, but remember what we should post and what not to post..pandai-pandai lah :D
ReplyDeleteIt is somehow very sad to see that we are treating a virtual world as the real society, and we are spending most of our time in it rather than spending time in real life society. I guess this is an unavoidable change in so called era of information technology.
